Donald Dean “Don” Stuart, beloved father, brother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the age of 87.

Born in Calgary, AB, on April 3, 1937, Don led a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, and many, many adventures; some good and some not so good.  He was known for his kind heart, authenticity, and deep compassion.

In his retirement, Don enjoyed golfing and was a member of many men’s leagues here in Calgary and in Phoenix, Arizona.  He resided six months a year in Phoenix and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family in the warmth of the desert. He also enjoyed getting together with his brother Vern, and his friends at the Moon in Arizona, to place their bets on all the major sports pools.

Don was predeceased by his wife Barbara and two great-grandsons Cage and Cade. He is survived by his children, Daryl (Patty), Lori (Leonard), and Leanne (Rick); grandchildren, Sarah (Matthew), Aimee (Tom), Melissa (Nolan), Rachel, Tyler (Brian), and Daniel (Antonio); and great-grandchildren, Kai, Kean, Lachlan, and Breya. Don’s kindness, compassion, and caring will continue to inspire generations to come.

Though he may be gone from our sight, Don will forever remain in our hearts.

A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
