Obituary of Stanley Charles Prosser

August 8, 1934 - Delson, Quebec

November 3, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

Stanley Prosser, beloved husband of Christine Prosser (nee Evans), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the age of 90 years.

Stanley was born in Delson, QC, on August 8, 1934. He moved to Calgary, AB, in 1982 and later married Christine, the love of his life, in 1995.

He accomplished much throughout his life, but he was particularly proud of his three sons and their families. Stanley was known for his smile and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed.

Stanley had a love for music, dancing, and socializing, but he was especially passionate about traveling in his and Christine’s little twenty-foot trailer and spent many memorable vacations exploring new places with his family. He enjoyed visiting family in the USA, flying to the UK, and spending time in the Greek Islands and Gran Canaria Islands. A particularly memorable vacation was spent with family in western Australia where he deep-sea fished, climbed above the Tingle woods, and met new people.

“When I had important meetings to attend, and I was nervous, Stan always told me that ‘Everyone puts their trousers on one leg at a time’ meaning whether you are wealthy or poor we are all equal.”

Stanley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed. He will be most remembered for his whole personality, a fun-loving family man, who loved driving across Canada and the USA to visit his sons and their families.

Besides his loving wife Christine, he is survived by his two sons, Ronald Prosser and Scott Prosser, his three daughters-in-law Linda Horn, Linda G Prosser, and Madeleine Prosser, five grandchildren, Philip, Justin, Sabrina, Ryan, Jillian, and three great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sisters Sylvia Taylor and Shelia Harris, brothers David Prosser and Roy Prosser, numerous nieces and nephews, and all the family scattered across Canada and the USA.

Stanley was predeceased by his son Ross Prosser, parents Stanley and Mary Prosser, five of his brothers Arther Prosser, Alex Prosser, Howard Prosser, Clarence Prosser, and Richard Prosser, and four sisters, Daphne Snell, May Harvey, Gladys Urquhart, and Judy Prosser.
