Obituary of Mark Stephen Phillips

June 30, 1962 – Great Falls, Montana

April 29, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Mark Phillips, beloved husband of Maureen (nee Gagnon), passed away on Monday at the age of 61.

Mark graduated from the U of A with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1985. He started his career with Bailey Controls and spent the last 15 years working at ENMAX. Mark accomplished much through his life and was proud of his role at work where he was greatly respected by his peers.

Mark was a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, which was only surpassed by his love of vacationing at Shuswap Lake with family and close friends where he enjoyed sharing food and wine while overlooking the water. He was a 4^th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

Besides his loving wife, Maureen, Mark is survived by his two daughters, Valerie (Dan) (Victoria, BC) and Allison (Stephen) (Calgary, AB), as well as his uncle, Grant Gillund, brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Denise Gagnon, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mark was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Joyce, and his aunt, Betty-Ann Gillund.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mark's service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
