Obituary of Mary Teresa Wallace

Mum lived a blessed and fruitful life, passing away at the age of 88 years on Friday, May 10, 2024, in Calgary, AB.

She was predeceased by our dad James Sr., grandson Brandon, and great-grandson Riley, her brother Leonard, and sister Pauline.

She will be lovingly missed by her children, James Jr., Maureen (Dale), Lena (Richard), Sheila (Gregg), and Alan (Kara); her grandchildren, Crystal, Ryan, Jameson, Jaxon, Cydney, and Scott; and her thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Marge (Lloyd), brothers, Jimmy and Ewart; sister-in-law Marlene, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mum was born in Notikewin, AB, on September 29,1935, to Joseph Patrick Kennedy and Katherine Pirie.

She later moved to Manning, AB, where she met, fell in love, and married our dad, James. They eventually moved to Calgary, where they continued to raise their five children and live out their lives together.

Our mum often spoke of a dream she had as a little girl. She was holding Jesus’ hand, as they walked together along a river’s edge talking.

Mum knew where she was going when her life on earth was done. She trusted in the Atonement of God’s Son. She loved Jesus with her whole heart, soul, and mind. It was her body that hindered her from continuing her desire, never failing willingness and boldness to share the Love of Jesus Christ.

In the twinkling of an eye Mum,

We shall see you again!

A special thanks to the Airdrie Care Community staff for the loving care they provided our mum during the time she spent with them. Also, to the staff at the Peter Lougheed Hospital for their support and care of Mum in her final days.

Laid to Rest at Queen’s Park Cemetery on Friday, May 24, 2024.
