Obituary of Uma Dargan

January 18, 1933 – Dharamsala, India

May 16, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Uma Dargan of Calgary, AB, beloved wife of Raj Dargan, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the age of 91 years.

Uma, the youngest of six children, grew up in Dharamsala, India, located in the lower regions of the majestic Himalaya mountains. After graduating high school, she attended art college in Mumbai, India, during which time she met her future husband, Raj Dargan. Uma and Raj immigrated to Canada in 1966, with their young son, Naveen.

Uma enjoyed golfing and travelling, but her true passion was for her beloved dogs, which she had many during her life.

Uma leaves behind her loving son Naveen, and daughter-in-law Christina; as well as four grandchildren, Charles, Amanda, Kristina, and Joseph; and great-granddaughter Sawyer.

Uma will be most remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and love for her family and dogs. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all those who have supported and cared for Uma throughout her life.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
