Debra Leanne Campbell (nee Park) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2024, at the age of 52 years surrounded by her family.
Debra was born in Calgary, AB, on July 23, 1971, to parents R. Wayne and Mildred Park. Debra graduated from Forest Lawn High School in 1989 before going on to pursue a diploma in Commercial Baking at SAIT.
Debra loved to bake and worked as a cake decorator and baker at the Calgary Co-op for many years before moving into the hotel industry to work as a front desk agent.
Debra’s life was marked by many accomplishments, but she was most proud of being a mother to her three sons, Ryan, Ethan, and Dylan. She was also a devoted wife to her husband, David, whom she married in 1993.
Debra had many passions but particularly loved to travel and take cruises around the world with her family. She enjoyed cheering on the Calgary Flames and had a love for her animals, leaving behind her kittens, Meeko, and Mango.
Despite facing significant health challenges, including a diagnosis of Hodgkin’s disease in 1997 and a serious heart attack in 2011, Debra never lost hope. She was a fighter and a survivor, and her determination inspired those around her.
Debra is survived by her loving husband, David; her three sons, Ryan, Ethan, and Dylan; her brother Craig, sister Darla, and father, Wayne; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Mildred (Fuhrmann) Park.
