It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Karsten Meyer, born on January 7, 1959, in Edmonton, AB. Randy passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Calgary, AB, where he spent most of his life.
Randy grew up with his four brothers in a lively household, guided by their loving parents, both of whom have since passed away, Floyd and June. His childhood in Calgary was filled with the joy of friendship and the bond of brotherhood, experiences that shaped his adventurous spirit.
Randy was known for his love of riding motorcycles, a passion that brought him freedom and joy on the open road. He also cherished playing cards, a pastime that he enjoyed whenever he was able, creating memories that would be remembered by all who knew him. He had a unique smile, laughter, and mannerisms that conveyed his presence. Cousins, aunts, and uncles were a constant presence in his upbringing. He was absolutely thrilled by family reunions and enjoyed time around a campfire with everyone.
Randy is survived by his three children, Troy, Darryl, and Rebecca. Despite a complicated history, he loved all his children without question, although he shared a special bond with his daughter, who was a shining light and comfort to him.
As we say goodbye to Randy, we remember him not just for the way he left us but for the way he lived – with a spirit full of love, laughter, and adventure. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
