Obituary of Maria Monica Withers

Maria Withers (nee Landers), beloved wife of Shane Withers, of Strathmore, AB, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the age of 59 years.

Born in Soest, West Germany, on August 15, 1964, where her family was stationed, Maria relocated to Calgary, AB, in January 1966.

In 1988 she met her husband Shane, and they started their family in 1989 with their son, Dustin, followed by their daughter, Jessica, in 1991. Maria was known for her love of learning, crafting, and refinishing old furniture. She enjoyed gardening and travelling with her husband. Maria will be remembered for being headstrong but also for being kind, strong, witty, and goofy. She loved people fiercely and she gave all of herself so openly to others, always thinking about what would best make them happy. She had the most infectious laugh that filled the room with joy and a smile that made everything better.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Shane, her children Dustin, and Jessica; her mother Monique, siblings Pat, Sue, and Lloyd; and her nieces and nephews.
