Obituary of Jillian Rose Wallace

Jillian Wallace, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the age of 41 years.

Jillian graduated from the University of Calgary with a BA in Archaeology with a concentration in Physical Anthropology; SAIT with a Master Design Certificate of Achievement, Web and Graphic Design; and Ryerson for a boot camp in web design.

Jillian worked in Calgary and Toronto focusing on Front End Web Development. While in Toronto, she volunteered with the Royal Ontario Museum focusing on ROMKids Programming.

Jillian enjoyed multimedia design, performance art, and world cultures. She attended Danscott Dance Studio from 1991-2001, where she loved taking and performing jazz, ballet, and tap. Throughout school, she was interested in “movie making” with friends, creating stories, and scripts, and editing these home movies using her quirky sense of humour and fun.

Her main passion was travel, starting with memorable family vacations including Christmases in Hawaii and California, summers in Osoyoos, trips down into the Red Woods, Las Vegas, Quebec, New Brunswick, and the Maritimes. Later her travels with friends and solo, included backpacking in Europe, a memorable trip to Iceland, and Malta.

Jillian is survived by her sister Erin Walsh of Calgary, AB, her mother Donna Boulanger (Wallace) of Calgary, AB, her nieces, Danielle Walsh and Brianne Walsh, both of Calgary, AB, her stepfather Peter Boulanger of Calgary, AB, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jillian was predeceased by her father Douglas Wallace.

A Gathering will be held in the Hospitality Centre at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
