Obituary of David LeRoy Weir Thorssen

David “Dave” Thorssen passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 81 years. Dave will be sorely missed.

Dearly loved big brother to Linda Abercrombie (Hart), Bob (May), Doug (Luanne), and Don (Betty); and uncle to Sean, Tracy, Curtis, Nicole, LeRoy, Luke, and Rafaella. Our dear Dave always played a major part in our family. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, humorous, honest, and ethical person.

During his lifetime, Dave worked at many different jobs all over the world, including extensive time in Southeast Asia, the Yukon, and Libya (as a wheat farmer). He worked in the oil and gas industry, in logging, as an underground miner, and a placer miner. He was also passionate about his time working on the trains for the CPR.

Dave was predeceased by his very special parents, Gwen and Chick Thorssen.

A private family celebration of his life will be held in the near future.
