Obituary of Esther Gloria Cioni
February 9, 1928 – Revelstoke, British Columbia
June 23, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
After a well-lived 96 years, we sadly announce the peaceful passing of Esther Cioni on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Although our hearts are broken to have her leave us, we are blessed that she was part of our lives for as long as she was.
Esther was born in Revelstoke, BC, and grew up in Field, BC. Following her high school graduation, she moved to Calgary for college to pursue her career.
Beautiful, kind, gentle, loving, generous, always smiling, and ready to go anywhere is how we will remember her.
Esther is survived by her nephew Jerry (Franca) DeGusti and niece Teresa (Remo) Marcucci, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews on both the Port and Cioni sides.
She was predeceased by her husband John Cioni, sister Mary DeGusti, three brothers, Ernie, Louie, and Freddie Port; and dear friend Gerry Egger.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at St. Joseph Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment Service to follow at Queens Park Mausoleum (3219-4th street NW, Calgary, AB, T2M 3A6). Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
