Condolences
Mrs. Wong was a kind and caring woman who was always generous, patient, and pleasant. As a child I enjoyed playing at Ron’s house, especially as getting treats from Ron’s mom was much more likely than what might happen at my home. She cared deeply for people, especially for her son. Ron lived in fear of getting sick because he was made to drink some terrible-tasting teas as remedies. I don’t recall the exact circumstances, but one dark day I must have had the sniffles at Ron’s house, or just joined him out of sympathy in his illness, as I sampled one of these teas. By comparison with that tea, death holds no fear. And with that, my family and I celebrate Shirley’s long life, the impact she had on us and others, and the grace and kindness reflected in Ron and others around her.
Dad has been going through the old family photos and sending them to us. I have such cherished memories of our family trips out west when we were younger where we visited with Auntie Shirley. Our condolences to the family and fondest wishes to all.
Our condolences to all the family. My parents send their heartfelt thoughts and wish everyone well during these challenging times. We know that Aunt Shirley lived a long and full life that was filled with lots of memories of her family. All of us from the Mark family in Toronto send our best wishes.
We have fond memories of our smiling, welcoming and generous Aunt Shirley.
Visiting family in Calgary during those childhood trips across country were special experiences.

Dear Ron and all who knew and loved Shirley, may these words by Colleen Corah Hitchcock bring you comfort …
ASCENSION
And if I go, while you’re still here …
Know that I live on,
vibrating to a different measure
~ behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me,
so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we soar together again
~ both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart
~ I will be there.
Rest in peace my dear Sister
Jean
