Condolences
Charles was a good friend for nearly 40 years. Our first point of contact was fly fishing on the Bow River, which we did together first in about 1985. He then introduced me to the spring creeks of Paradise Valley in Montana, and later to his beloved steelhead fishing on the Bulkley River. Later we talked about baseball, hunting, and more fishing. He was a quiet man, but a fine story teller. He was kind and generous, and I miss him.
Charles gave me a lot of precious memories. He taught me how to fish and was very patient with me as I lost a lot of his hooks and bobbers. Charles gave me a lot of joy and happy memories. I am ever grateful.
I will long remember the many wonderful days we spent together fly fishing on the Bow River. As should be the case, Charles expert angling skills frequently resulted in his successfully fooling the river’s beautiful trout. Charles will be missed.
Charles was an active member of the Riverside Club for several years. Many knew him by name and looked forward to his daily visits. His desire to keep moving and stay strong was an inspiration to the staff and members of the club. Charles will be sadly missed by all.
