Condolences
I knew the Carscaddens as my father was in the RCAF with Carse Carscadden and they were old family friends. I first met Jerry and Joy when I visited the Carscaddens at their home in Vancouver. At that time I was training at the Canadian army base (COTC) in Chilliwack B.C.(near Vancouver).
I hung out with Jerry and Joy whenever I came to Vancouver and we developed a close bond. Later, Joy visited with my Mother and me at our home in Toronto and I later stayed with Jerry and Joy at their home near the RCAF air base in Trenton, Ontario.
I was saddened to hear about Jerry's later death in a airplane crash in (Tanzania?) while on active duty in the RCAF.

Joy was such a lovely woman and every single time I saw her she had the biggest hugs for me. I’ll never forget her. Love goes out to the whole family.
I met Joy when I was a Financial Adviser at CIBC and from there what
was a business relationship developed into a 26 year bond, which was built on trust, loyalty, honesty, respect and courtesy.
Joy was a strong, caring and giving woman, whom I was blessed to meet. We shared many stories over the years and I know the "Wind is Beneath her Wings" and she will be Flying High watching over each and everyone of us.
Words cannot make sorrow easier to bear, but they can show how deeply we sympathize and care.
My condolences to Cat, Marily and Family whom I was also blessed to meet and get tp know over the years thanks to "Mom"

I met Joy when Cat and I were friends in highschool. She took me on my very first flight. She was a strong, caring and brave woman who was also a great listener with the best advice. I was lucky enough to spend time with Joy 40 years later when Cat and I reconnected. She was still as dynamic as ever! I even got to go on a little roadtrip with her and Cat! I will never forget your family roadtrip song. Fly high Joy.
My condolences to Cat, Marily and all the other family members I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting.
Joy was my golf buddy. I had the pleasure of playing with her many times after first meeting her at the Second Sixties club many years ago. Joy loved golf and I remember when we went to some of the out of town courses how much she enjoyed the scenery, trees and wild flowers especially at Livingstone golf course. Even when she was ninety and had an injured shoulder she still wanted to come and pitch and putt even though she could not use her driver any more. She could still hit a good ball with her seven iron! She always insisted on walking the shorter courses and would very rarely ride in a golf cart.
I will miss you Joy.
Rest in peace,
Janine
Joy was a remarkable and very special lady. She took us under her wing when we arrived in Canada 30 years ago and made us so welcome. She was part of our family and watched our children and grandchildren grow up. We called her “Mum”.
We have many happy memories of visits, skiing, golfing and 5pm phone calls to enjoy a sundowner with her. We will really miss her. We were very privileged to have her in our lives.
Our sincere condolences to Cat, Marily and Family
