Obituary of Bryce Jonathan Mark
îpabin To (Blue Rock)
January 5, 1975 – July 18, 2024
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew, and grandfather, Bryce Mark, on Thursday, July 18, 2024.
Bryce was a kind, loving, caring, and humble person. He grew up on the Stoney Nakoda Nation. He was educated at the Morley Day School and went to high school at Jack Collette High in Calgary, AB. In his younger years and childhood, he was a traditional Powwow dancer, an avid hockey player and goaltender, and a bull rider. He started out playing hockey at a very young age and won many championships, along with dancing traditional on the Powwow trail. He participated in rodeos, from bareback to bull riding, starting at the age of 16. He also had a huge love for music and played in his own band as a singer-songwriter. He made many friends along the way in life and he brightened the room with his welcoming presence. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, charity, and goodwill.
Bryce is survived by his mother Eleanor, his sister Shawna, his daughters, Jonah (Jeremy), Alaska (formerly Ashley), and Miracle; his sons, Boyevin and Roddy; his stepchildren, Sephora, Japheth, and Sharly; and his grandsons, Prince and Percy. He is also survived by his uncle Duane, auntie Pam, and his extended family relations to the Mark, Woods, Chiniquay, Powderface, Twoyoungmen, Rollinmud, Simeon, and Baptiste families. There may be others that have been missed, as there are too many to mention.
Bryce was predeceased by his late father Charlie Wood Jr. II, his grandparents on both sides, John and Georgie Mark, and Elsie and Alec Wood; his uncle Rod Mark; his maternal great-grandfather Morley Twoyoungmen, and niece Tia Mark. He was also predeceased by close friends, Rosevelt, Cody LaBelle, Arvid C., Selwyn, Jake Wesley, Boyce Mark, and Casper, as well as many other close friends.
