Condolences
Sincere condolences to Geoff, who I worked with, and all the rest of Mike’s family. Although I never worked directly with Mike in Ident. (Different provinces) I did know of him in the Ident world and he was very highly respected and well liked. My sympathies to all his family, I’m sure he will be greatly missed. It was such a pleasure to get to know Mike and to be able to provide care for him, his smile was contagious! Mike's care team were saddened to hear the news of his passing, but grateful to have known him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. - Chelsea Jani and the team at Longevity Care
Our deepest sympathies are with Erika and family. We have happy memories of the time we spent with Mike and Erika in Brooks so many years ago. We wish we had been able to visit more often over the years. Erika, you are in our prayers and we hope to seen you again soon.

I started out by doing Erika’s hair at the salon but after my son was born I went to the house, about 21.5 years ago. At that point I was there often and began to do Mike’s hair as well. They quickly became like family to me. Mike always had a smile on his face. I’d have to say he was probably one of the kindest, most gentle and sincere people I have ever known. My heart goes out to the whole family, but especially Erika. They had one of the longest lives that I know of, being married I believe for 57 years. That is powerful and I admire that deeply. Love you guys!❤️
When we asked who is on call for Ident we were always relieved when told Mike was on call. He always had a positive attitude and was the consummate professional. Nothing but fond memories from the Red Deer and P.A. days.

On behalf of Pat and myself I would like to extend our most sincere condolences to Mike's family. I worked with Mike during my service in Calgary Sub/Division and I can say without hesitation Mike was a loyal and dedicated member who demonstrated professionalism and true leadership for his Forensic Identification Unit. Coincidentally we both did our recruit training at the same time back in 1965, Mike in Ottawa and myself in Regina.
Our relationship did not end with the RCMP as Mike's daughter taught school at the Edge School and four of our grandchildren all had her as their teacher. Each of them reminding me that Miss Ellis' Dad and I worked together in Calgary.
May he R.I.P.

My condolences to Erika and family. I knew Mike for most of my service, meeting when he was in Edmonton and Calgary. He always had a smile on his face and was always there to help. I remember one investigation we worked on together where I had him and another member climbing the skill hill at Fortress Mountain to survey it for a file. Mike was "the man" in Ident and would take time to explain what he was doing and why. Thank you, Mike! Rest in peace my friend.
My deepest sympathy to Mike’s family I knew Mike when I was stationed in Okotoks & High River He was always a dependable guy you can rely on Mike & Gerry Taylor were a dynamic duo back in the days Great Ident guys were were lucky to have them in Calgary Mike would come no matter how trivial the call was & always gave his best effort which I appreciated
We will miss you Mike

Whenever you called "K" Div for Ident and they sent out Mike to the scene, he was always professional, engaged and ready to share his expertise to us "grunts". I do not ever recall him not having a smile on his face and a laugh. Condolences to all his family and RCMP family
My deepest condolences to all of Mike’s family. We were colleagues in Calgary and I can vouch for the fact that Mike was a consummate professional and one of the nicest members with whom I’ve ever worked. He was a one of a kind and a definite asset to the Force.
