Obituary of Adrienne Mary Pitson
October 1, 1941 – Neath, Wales
September 2, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Adrienne Pitson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the age of 82 years.
Adrienne was born in Neath, South Wales, on October 1, 1941. She lived in Swansea for the first 35 years of her life, where she graduated from Swansea Technical College.
She married the love of her life, Brian Pitson, in March of 1963. Soon enough, Nicola and Michael arrived in the world. She raised her family in Swansea with many memorable beach days and exploring the castle ruins and trails on the gorgeous coastline of Wales. The family then immigrated to Canada in 1976.
Adrienne had a passion for travel and art; she took numerous vacations with Brian, and they were fortunate enough to travel the world. She was able to view priceless pieces of artwork as she grew up, with her dad being a talented artist.
Adrienne loved music and cooking, and she was often found baking something delicious while listening to Queen as loud as she could. She will be most remembered for her quick wit and sense of humour. She helped people in need when they required it, was a woman who took pride in the accomplishments of her family, and was known as “that Fiery Redhead”.
Besides her loving husband Brian, Adrienne is survived by her daughter Nicola (Dino) of Calgary, son Michael (Marnie) of Airdrie, sister Marjorie (Phillip) of Nanoose Bay, BC, her granddaughters, Angela and Chelsea (Tyler) of Calgary; grandson Aaron (Kim) of Red Deer, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Adrienne was predeceased by her parents, Emlyn and May Evans.
A Celebration of Adrienne's Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
