Obituary of Margaret Helen Rasberry

Margaret “Marnel” Helen Rasberry (nee Smith), beloved wife of Gordon John Rasberry, of Cochrane, AB, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the age of 90 years.
Marnel was born in Toronto, ON, on January 14, 1934, the only child of Robert and Margaret Smith.
In 1950 she met her future husband Gordon, whom she married in 1954, and their marriage continued for 60 years until 2014 with Gord’s passing.
Marnel and Gordon were both only children and wanted to have a large family; they had five sons.
She and her family moved to Calgary, AB, in 1978 to open a chain of restaurants named Mother's Pizza Parlour.
Marnel’s passion was her family and sports. While her sons were growing up, they were participating in hockey, baseball, football, and swimming, and Marnel never missed an activity.
Marnel is survived by her five sons, Steve (Nikki), Doug (Patti), Phil (Donna), Mike (Laura), and Richard; her grandchildren, Cody, Nicholas, Kristopher, Mitchell, Brian, Mark, Jay, Bradley, Victoria, Leanne, Adam, Matthew, and Jenna; and her great-grandchildren, Deven, Kayla, Rylee, Elle, Hudson, Wyatt, Chayse, Cheyenne, Brynlee, Caleb, Abby, Kayleigh, Josiah, Bennett, Cooper, Lawson, Bodhi, and Brooks. These families reside in Alberta and British Columbia.
Marnel was predeceased by her husband Gordon and granddaughter Beverley.
