Weisner “Wes” Au passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the age of 63 years. Born in Stephenville Crossing, NL, on May 29, 1961, Wes lived a life marked by dedication and warmth.

 

Wes moved to Calgary, AB, in the late 1970s to pursue higher education at the University of Calgary, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1982. His professional journey began at ATCO, where he advanced to the role of Controller for ATCO Noise Management. He concluded his career as a Director at Innova Global before retiring.

 

Beyond his professional achievements, Wes was passionate about hockey, skiing, golf, and fancy sports cars. He was known for his favorite saying, "Everything is good," and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, hospitality, and especially for the unwavering care he provided to his mother.

 

Wes is survived by his mother Kamsui, brothers, William (Sandra) of West Kelowna, BC, and Willie (Liddy) of Kippens, NL; aunt Jenny Hong of Boston, MA, uncle Joe Lee (Polly) of Calgary, AB, and cousins, Dave (Tracey, Brandon, Justin) of Boston, MA, Jonathan (Amanda, Nathaniel, Nicholas) of Calgary, AB, and Justin (Sarah, Mackenzie) of Toronto, ON; as well as numerous cousins, relatives, and friends. Wes was predeceased by his father Danny and brother Wilton.

 

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. A reception will then be held at Ginger Beef Bistro House (388 Country Hills Blvd NE Unit 400, Calgary, AB T3K 5J6) at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends.
