Obituary of Edna Lilly Geier

Edna Geier, beloved wife of Martin Geier of Airdrie, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the age of 95 years.
Born on June 10, 1929, in Hanna, Alberta, Edna lived a life of deep faith, love and devotion to her family and community.
After marrying Martin, and moving to the farm, Edna was always ready to lend a helping hand. She had a remarkable love for music, and her voice graced the Church choir for many years. Above all, Edna’s faith was the cornerstone of her life, reflected in her steadfast involvement in the Church.
Edna was an accomplished seamstress, her creativity shone through with the beautiful clothing she made for her family and herself. She was a social butterfly and had many accomplishments and joys in her life including; entertaining family and friends, baking, gardening, travelling, watching romantic movies, soaps and Fox News.
Edna’s legacy lives on through her children: Heather Watson (Terry Devisser), Shelley Knight, and Darren (Nancy) Geier; her grandchildren: Janelle Watson, Stacey (Caley) Stratychuk, Corine (Bruce) Bushfield, Michael (Erin) Knight, Mitchell Geier, Tessa Geier; and great-grandchildren: Julia Watson, Deklin Stratychuk, Emerson Stratychuk, Nicole Bushfield, Rachel Bushfield, Samantha Knight and Loralei Knight.
Predeceased by her husband Martin, her parents, John and Julianna Miller, four brothers, (Robert Miller, Albert Miller, Pat Miller and Oscar Miller), and two sisters (Adelina Beyer, Emma Mattern), and son-in-law Marvin Knight.
A Celebration of Edna’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at the Keoma Community Hall (112 - 6th Steet, Keoma, AB). Reception to follow.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Airdrie Home Care, staff at Rockyview Hospital, and Newport Harbour Care Centre for their kind and compassionate care.
She will be forever remembered for her unwavering love and dedication to the family, her strong faith, and the joy she brought to those around her. May she rest in eternal peace.
