Obituary of Alvilde BERG

1915 – 2014 Alvilde Berg of Calgary (formerly of Camrose, AB) passed away peacefully on July 20, 2014 at the age of 98 years. Lalla is survived by her seven children, Marjorie Burst, Larry (Sonia) Berg, Vern (Cheryl) Berg, Lorne (Bev) Berg, Ron (June) Berg, Arden (Linda) Berg and Shannon (Cal) Jaycock; 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, siblings Juel (Jean) Frydenlund, Inger Gore, Valborg Hunter and brother-in-law Raymond Trulsrud and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by parents Ludvig and Inga Frydenlund, husband Knute Berg, daughter Karen Arlene Levson, grandson Robin Berg, brothers Ottar and Sigvald Frydenlund, sister Loreen Trulsrud, sister-in-law Marie Frydenlund, sons-in-law James Burst and Hal Levson, brothers-in-laws Jim Hunter and Frank Gore. Lalla and her family began farming near South Allan and Leroy, SK before moving to Camrose, AB in 1953 and Calgary in 2002. She enjoyed church activities, gardening, quilting, baking, her Christmas “Flatbread” and “Toffee” were always a treat. She encouraged her children to “get an education”. She had a great sense of humour, and a positive attitude all through her life. A Memorial Service will be held at Varsity Acres Presbyterian Church (4612 Varsity Drive N.W.) on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be posted on www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family thanks the staff at the Brentwood Care Center and Edgemont Residence for their loving care.
