Obituary of Orlis Myrne Moroz

September 16, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Orlis Moroz of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the age of 81 years.
Orlis was born in Ebenezer, SK, on November 11, 1942. She later moved to Calgary to attend the U of C in 1960.
She spent many years working at William Aberhart High School as a Guidance Counselor. In 1966, she married her beloved husband, Ron.
She was a proud member of the Calgary Philharmonic Choir and The Central United Church Choir, as well as the President of the Rosemont Community Association and the Local United Conservative Party Association.
Orlis accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her work in keeping small schools open, particularly the Rosemont Elementary School.
When she retired from teaching, she pursued her hobby of design quilting. Her most memorable vacation was when she went on a safari in Africa.
She will be most remembered for her dynamic personality and being the person who was always prepared to volunteer to get projects completed.
Besides her loving husband Ron, Orlis is survived by her two daughters, Tara and Jana; two sons-in-law, and two grandchildren, Logan and Natalie. She is also survived by her sister Joyce, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Orlis was predeceased by her sister Beryl.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre of the Funeral Home.
