Condolences
Dear Sandy and family,
I was so very sorry to hear of Richard's passing. He was such a good friend and neighbour, a kind man to all of us. I have especially fond memories of babysitting the kids and having you all at my wedding. We will miss him but will always carry him in our hearts. Sending love,
Astrid Rouleau
Dear Sandy and family:
It is with sadness to hear of the passing of my colleague and mentor. We were partners in a medical practice for most of the 1980's. Richard was a true caring physician with a high moral and ethical standard. He was a guiding light in my formative years learning the skills of family medicine. We spent many an hour together dealing with and solving medical problems. He had a dedicated staff who worked hard for him because of his character and the way he treated all people.
Again, with condolences to you and the family,
Robert Hartog, M.D.,F.A.A.F.P.
Dear Sandee: so sorry to hear of your loss. As classmates we go back to the pre med U. Of C. Days when after studying we would go to the Husky gas station at midnight for coffee as it was the only cafe open and the price was right. . I always found him humble, selfless and caring. A fine friend and physican. Condolences to you and family

Dear Sandy and Family.
I'm sure sorry to hear of Rick's passing. He was a fine man and one of my favorite colleagues. I know his patients really loved him as he was my sister and her kid's family doctor for years and they couldn't say enough kind words about Dr. Rick.
Wishing you and your Family best of wishes at this difficult time,
Dr. Harry Lefebre
Hi Sandy and Family,
I am sorry for your loss of Rick recently. When I think of Rick, the following comes to mind; Kind, Generous, Gentle and Well Respected, mostly because he showed respect to all he met. A true Gentleman. May He Rest In Peace.
Dr. Charles Smart-Abbey
Dr. Ziegler, looked after a lot of people from Siksika Nation as well as my late mother, Martha. He was a good man and was sad when he retired and equally sad to hear of his passing. He was my doctor and we had good conversations. Rest in peace, Dr. Ziegler. You have done a good service to those that you looked after during your time as a family doctor. Thank you. God bless.
Richard was one of the good guys in this world. Played on the MHHS Redskins football team with him. He always had a great sense of humour and his trademark smile. Such a gentleman

Sandy, Mark, Kirsty and Greg, my sincerest condolences for the loss of Richard. I only knew him as "Kirsty's dad", but know that he was highly respected in the medical community for all the lives that he touched in his work. One of my favorite memories is him coming to our Grade 1 class and putting a cast on Kirsten as "show and tell" and he brought crutches too, which we all got to try out. What an amazing experience for us 6 year olds!
May he rest now in peace in heaven.
Much love,
Jennifer Bader
Our deepest condolences to your family in the loss of such a good man & fine doctor.
Richard was our doctor for over a decade until we relocated from Calgary in the 90s. He was a kind & compassionate man who always took the time to actually listen to his patients. He was & still is our baseline on which we measure our experiences in the medical community. Richard set a very high bar.
Sandy, Mark, Kirsten & Gregg,
My heart is broken for the loss of your great man. May the touching memories stay with you always.
Love, Jenny Gobert
Richard was so much fun to be around. So smart and friendly. Very down to earth. Many good memories but I will always remember my ride in his XKE.
Dear Sandy and Family:
I just heard the news about Richard's passing. I am sorry for your loss and I hope that it was peaceful. I first met Richard back in 1993. I was new to Calgary at that time and he openly welcomed me as a new member in his group practice office down in Mission. It was a pleasure working with him. He was exceptionally kind, compassionate, and had a touch of mischievousness that made work entertaining. As with any life, I know that there were some challenges in his as well. However, I know that he managed them with positivity and optimism. I will remember him as a thoughtful and generous human being. My condolences to you all. Rest in peace Richard.

Sandy - I'm so sorry to hear about Richard's passing. A life well-lived is a great legacy to leave but it doesn't fill the hole in the hearts of those who loved him. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him!

Years ago I knew Richard Ziegler as my favourite Doctor. He always made me feel special. May he Rest In Peace,
Sandy - so sorry for your loss. My husband Chuck passed away earlier this year at the same age. I know what a hole it leaves in your life. Give me a call if you want to talk. Your friend, Hazel
Where does one begin to express their appreciation for the kindness shown by someone? Richie was a quiet but exceedingly intelligent man. He was kind and inviting. He had a way of making people feel welcome. I loved talking with him about his hobby that took up much of the basement, his views on life, his little dog, Jasper, and how much he loved his family. My sincere condolences go out to the Ziegler family. I know he will be missed.
