Obituary of Nagin Chand Chaudhary

Nagin Chaudhary of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the age of 98 years.
Nagin was born in Kotli (now in Pakistan) on March 15, 1926. He moved to Ghal Kalan, Punjab, India in 1947, during the partition. He immigrated to Canada in 1986.
Nagin married Swarna (Kailash) Puri in India.
He was a member of the INCA Senior Citizens Society for over 30 years and volunteered his time and services at the Dashmesh Culture Centre, where he protected the temple and frequently helped prepare food (langar).
Nagin achieved much throughout his life and took great pride in the legacy he left behind, especially in the lasting friendships he forged through his dedicated service to the Indian community.
He enjoyed walks, the outdoors, and spending time with his loved ones.
Nagin is survived by his children: Sudesh Kumari (Lt Jagsir Singh Khullar), Paul Chaudhary (Lt. Pushpa), Subhash Chaudhary (Sudha), Tarsem Chaudhary (Asha), Kamlesh Lyons (Norm) and Davinder Chaudhary (Rita). He was also a proud grandfather to sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Nagin was predeceased by his wife Kailash Chaudhary, and five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Calgary Crematorium, 3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Chaudhary’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
