Condolences
I will always remember Aunt Ruby for her kindness, warmth and love for our family. She welcomed us with with three young children in tow when we visited at their home and I have such fond memories of our time together. Thinking of you all as you prepare to celebrate her life and share your memories of our Aunt Ruby. Sending love from Bernice and Ian Clancy and family in Waterloo.
Aunt Ruby was a wonderfully warmhearted and welcoming person. Some of my earliest and fondest memories were the holiday visits to Ottawa and staying with Aunt Ruby and family. During these years Ruby took care of our Grandmother, offering her a beautiful caring environment. Ruby also cared for me as a newborn when my mother was hospitalized after my birth. That was Aunt Ruby, offering a level of compassion beyond that of altruistic. We were blessed to have her example. Remembering you always, Edward Killin
My first memory of Ruby was her warm smile and welcoming hug as I entered the doors of Westview Baptist Church for the first time in the early 1980s. She announced with joy “we’ve been praying for you” and indeed Ruby and Jim were part of a home group who had been faithfully praying for me. She was always encouraging and very patient with me (and probably many others!). She was a kind, sweet and godly woman. My prayers to all her family for the comfort of God’s Spirit to be their support as they adjust to life without her.
Aunt Ruby was one of a kind. I learned so much more about her life in the last few visits with her and found her recollections about her various life experiences fascinating. She had me spellbound. Ruby was beloved by her family in Toronto and will be missed very much. Linda Killin
