Obituary of Patricia Alice Kinsella
March 3, 1932 - Edmonton, Alberta
September 21, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Kinsella (nee Lever) of Calgary, AB, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the age of 92 years. She was born in Edmonton and spent her childhood in Minburn, AB, and her adult life in Calgary.
Pat was an active member in her community of Cambrian Heights where she lived for 66 years. She volunteered with both Brownie and Girl Guide groups as a Leader. She was also an active member in her faith community at the Wild Rose United Church, volunteering for many functions. Pat joined the Elks Golf Club with her late husband Elwood; she was very good at the game and won many tournaments and prizes. They travelled abroad and to the USA on numerous golf holidays with their friends.
Pat was a lifelong active gardener and had an enviable flower garden and raspberry patch. Before arthritis made mobility difficult for her, Pat was also an avid hiker and cross-country skier. She travelled throughout Europe with her hiking group on several occasions to different locations but loved her Rocky Mountains most. She had many artistic talents, including sewing, macrame, knitting, paper tole, and most recently, painting. Pat also loved playing cards, particularly Bridge and Whist, and when she moved to Huntington Manor she started playing again. Most of all, Pat enjoyed time with her family.
Pat will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Denise and Cathy; her son Dale (Mary-Beth); two grandsons, Hardy and Jesse; and her sister Jacque (Bob). She was predeceased by her husband Elwood and her brother Dennis.
Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Patricia’s family here.
