Kamsui Au of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the remarkable age of 98 years.
Born on July 8, 1926, in Toishan, China, Kamsui’s journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and an unwavering dedication to her family. Kamsui married Danny Que Au in China before embarking on a new chapter in Canada in 1956. Together, they operated a bustling restaurant in Stephenville, NL, where their hard work and commitment shaped their lives until Kamsui’s retirement in 1979.
In 1980, Kamsui moved to Calgary to be closer to all her beloved sons; Wilton, William, Willie, and Weisner. Her nurturing spirit allowed her to support and celebrate their achievements, always ensuring her family felt loved and cared for.
Kamsui cherished her travels, especially her visits to Hawaii and New Zealand, where she connected with close relatives. Her culinary skills, particularly her traditional Chinese dim sum, brought joy to many, especially her church congregation, who fondly remember her generosity.
She will be deeply missed for her boundless love, her ability to lend a helping hand, and her unwavering dedication to family.
Kamsui is survived by her sons, William (Sandra) and Willie (Liddy); sister-in-law Jenny Hong, nephew David (Tracey, Brandon, Justin); brother Joe (Polly); nephews, Jonathan (Amanda, Nathaniel, Nicholas) and Justin (Sarah, MacKenzie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Kamsui’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Danny and sons, Wilton and Weisner.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.
