Obituary of Ronald Hubert Westcott

Ronald “Ron” Westcott of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the age of 78 years.
Ron was born on July 11, 1946, in Montreal, QC. He attended Sir George Williams University (now Concordia) completing a Bachelor of Science in 1969. He moved to Toronto, ON, to further his studies and graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Mathematics in 1970. In 1971, Ron joined Price Waterhouse and completed additional courses to receive his Chartered Accountant certification.
In Toronto, he met Norma, and they married in 1971. In 1979 they welcomed their first son Brian and relocated to Calgary. The family grew again in 1981 with the addition of their second son, Andrew.
Ron enjoyed a successful career in public accounting and the oil and gas industry. He was a passionate skier, who loved music and model railroading. After retiring in 2004, he shared his accounting skills by volunteering for multiple organizations. Ron was a devoted family man and found joy in connecting with family members near and far. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be remembered for his generous and kind spirit.
Ron is survived by his wife Norma, son Brian (Lisa), granddaughters, Clara and Sylvie; and sister Nancy (John) Rheaume, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Marion; his son Andrew, and his brother Steve.
A Memorial Service to Celebrate Ron's Life will be held at Central United Church (131 - 7 Ave. SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
