Obituary of Salomi Gudur Job

September 30, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Salomi Gudur Job, beloved wife of Gudur Job Abraham, of Chennai, India, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the age of 55 years.

 

Salomi was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, on December 18, 1968, to parents Nandavarapu Kondaiah and Seethamma. She was the third-born child with two elder sisters and three younger brothers. She was her father’s "lucky charm".

 

Salomi married Gudur Job on June 13, 1984. She enjoyed spoiling her husband with love throughout their forty years of marriage. She loved travelling with her husband. Her most memorable vacations were Kashmir, Shimla, and Wagah Border Punjab.

 

She had a passion for the Lord and loved to pray. Her favourite bible verse was,

 

Psalm 128: 3-4

 

“Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house,

your children like olive plants, all around your table.

Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the lord.”

 

She lived accordingly until her last breath.

 

She was a devoted member of the Telugu Baptist Church Annanur. There, she played a vital role in all church activities; she was a treasurer at the women’s fellowship and an important member of the church’s prayer warrior team. She loved cooking for the church Pastors and God’s Ministers and was known for her hospitality. Salomi accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her children’s accomplishments. She will be most remembered for her love for others.

 

Besides her loving husband, Salomi is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ms. Aswini Vijayabaskar and Vijayabaskar K, Chennai; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Arunkumar Gudur Job and Caroline Arunkumar, of Calgary, AB; and Ajay Job and Mercy Salomi Ajay, Dubai, UAE; and three grandchildren, Hope Bethany, Kathie Amora, and Nathan Jireh.

 

Salomi is also survived by her three brothers and two sisters-in-law, N Sharon, N Raja, and Vijayabaskar K and Seion Kumari N S, Sharmila N R Chennai, Tamil Nadu; two sisters, Vijayamma and Violet Mary, Chennai, Tamil Nadu; three grandchildren, Keerthi N R, Kimra Sharon, and N S Lamb Joy Chennai, Tamil Nadu, as well as numerous friends and relatives.

 

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery.

 

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Gudur Job’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
