Dear Jean and all your family, it is with such a shock and saddened heart that I hear of the news of your beloved brother Nick's passing. I remember him so well and his beautiful smile and laughter, when we worked together at Holy Spirit, now many years ago. Although I know that he is now safe in the arms of Jesus and in the company of your dad and all those who have gone before him, it is still so difficult to say good bye. May he now enjoy the fullness of new Life in the Risen Lord at the heavenly banquet table, where all tears are wiped away and death is no more. Big hugs to you all, as Chris and I are flying out this Friday and will not be able to be there with you in person however we will be no less with you in thoughts and prayers. Our very sincere condolences and much love to you all. Chris and Michael Soentgerath
We first met Kuya Nick on May 7, 2015, when he and Kuya Tatoy picked us up from Calgary International Airport. Though we didn’t know them personally at the time, they extended a helping hand to us, like they did for many newcomers. I will always be grateful for Kuya Nick’s unwavering positivity. Even after we moved away from Calgary, they continued to visit our growing family, checking in on us like a father, always making sure we were doing well. His presence and kindness will forever be cherished. Kuya Nick was a big part of our journey, and truly became family to us. Thank you, Kuya Nick. May your big smile live on forever.
I didn't know Nick for long but in the short time I knew him I considered him to be a great friend. I will always remember his great smile and kind soul. And of course Nick's gold sequined hat. It was his trademark and made him easy to find. Leslie and I were honoured to have him at our wedding 2 weeks ago. At that time he sang a song to us to get us to kiss. Nick was a great singer but that day no hat. I said to him that I didn't recognize him without his hat. He smiled and the next.time at brown bag for kids all was good again as there was nick....big smile and his gold hat. You may have left earth my friend but there is another gold star lightning the sky for us. Thanks for all you gave to us and to society.
