Obituary of Tim Finnigan
March 5, 1962 – Fort Nelson, British Columbia
October 6, 2024 – Lethbridge, Alberta
Tim Finnigan, born in 1962, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, however, those numbers are irrelevant. Otherwise seen on a headstone as 03/05/1962-10/06/2024, it's not the dates that matter, but what happened during the dash.
Tim had a full life and loved to tell stories; stories of his family heritage and events that had happened in his life. He liked to retell the stories at every gathering – he was a born storyteller. He wanted to write a book after he retired but he ran out of dash.
Tim had great love and pride for his daughter Chelsea Rose Finnigan who passed in 2022, and his son Kyle David Finnigan.
He loved to adventure and called himself the "king" of the secret backways. He loved to travel, to be by the water, and to canoe. He spent a lot of time at Sylvan Lake with family, which was the highlight of his summers. He loved to follow old roads and see where they went, even if it meant having to backtrack because of a dead end or as he would say, "didn't see that coming".
He loved animals and had many pets throughout his life, and found they enriched his being.
Tim had great love for all of his family and friends. He leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 28 years, Anna, (although he liked to say they had been together for 31 and it feels like 60), his son Kyle, his mother Gloria, brother Warren (Susan), nephew Ryan, his brother Dennis, sister Angela (Josef), nieces, Faith (Zach) and Carmelle (David); grandnieces, Anne and Kathryn; sister Sharon (Edward), nephew Andy, his niece Sarah, his sister and brother-in-law Rena and Chris Duiven; and nephews, Jason, Daylan, and Skylar; not to mention countless other family and friends.
With the absence of his larger-than-life presence, Tim will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Live your dash to the fullest!
