Obituary of Janice Marjorie Williamson

Janice “Jan” Williamson (nee Booth), the beloved wife of David Williamson, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the age of 77 years.

Jan was born in Winnipeg, MB, on August 3, 1947. She graduated from Grade 12 at Kelvin high school in Winnipeg, and worked for many years at various banks as loans officer. After graduating from High School, Jan lived in multiple cities and towns across British Columbia and Alberta, including Vancouver, BC; Kamloops, BC; Kelowna, BC; Vernon, BC; Armstrong, BC; Calgary, AB, Carnwood, AB; Lantzeville, BC; Nanaimo, BC; and ultimately ending up back in Calgary. She married David Williamson in 1981, and started their life together in Armstrong, BC.

She was a dog lover, owning many dogs over her lifetime. Jan always enjoyed going to the mall and the occasional casino to play the slots. She had a natural talent for interior decorating, cooking, and baking. She enjoyed conversations and spending time with her close friends and family. Jan’s most memorable vacation was when she and David took a European cruise to Italy, Greece, and Turkey.

She will be most remembered for her generosity and thoughtfulness for others.

Besides her loving husband, David, Jan is survived by her stepdaughter Sherri (Dale) Seddon of Calgary, stepson Brent (Rhonda) Williamson of Nanaimo, grandchildren, Halle and Colby Williamson of Nanaimo, and Mercedes and Spencer Seddon of Calgary. Janice is also survived by her brother Dr. Barry (Louise) Booth of Vancouver, niece Alison McNamar, nephew Ian Booth, great-nieces and nephew, cousins, and friends.

Janice was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Marjorie Booth.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at St. Paul's Historical Anglican Church (14608 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. Reception to follow at McInnis and Holloway (Fish Creek Hospitality Centre, 14441 Bannister Rd SE, Calgary, AB).
