Condolences
To John, Gordon and extended family,
Maggie, what a journey of friendship, like so many others it began working with you and Hans at BPS. You sitting on the little stool and me on the big!! So many laughs, stories, fun times we reminisced over face time since - little house on Squirrel, Cascade pits, sports stars that visited in winter times, buying shows for the shop in Calgary. So much hockey talk, me for the Flames you and Hans true Canadiens . So happy that I made it back to Banff form Oz with my family for Xmas a couple of years ago ( Tegan, Matt , Tilly and you got to meet Cody) we had Xmas Buffet altogether at The Banff Springs, you arranged for some of the Swiss coffee shop crew to come to yours once more . Shopping together down the Avenue and winter walks with Paisley. I will continue to cherish these memories and so many more .How lucky that Cody and fiancé Emilie got to stay with you at the end of July and enjoy some special moments with you and Paisley . You hated saying farewell and never did either then or now. So true to yourself! I still can’t quite believe our journey is over , Mountains of love Angela ( Smitty )
Maggie's family
Cannot believe Maggie has left us, first met Maggie when we both worked at the Timberline in 1969!.She was always fun and laughter remember New Years Eve she had a radio to hear the New Year ring in in Scotland. We kept in touch on and off over the years. The past year received her messages in the morning, Scotch humor and jokes, her daily walks with Paisley.. We had discussed for me to visit her in Banff, but I didn't get to Banff. Lesson learned don't talk do it. Maggie & Hans were a great couple, they are together again enjoying a glass or two and laughing again. Hold close all the memories of happy days. Take care

Dear Maggie “Mom”,
So much to tell you, so many fond memories I have…
Started when I worked at the BPL, dropping my skis to get tuned at the shop, TV was on, watching the World cup skiing or a hockey game – the friendly atmosphere always present, always felt welcomed – John and Gordon were little boys! Then you have opened your home to me, my years living in your basement suite are my best years in Banff. So many times we shared a “coppa” of wine or tea sitting in the stairwell or in the backyard. We laughed, we solved the world’s problems, then Hans will say supper’s ready Maggie…and we would blow a kiss and say until tomorrow.
You are one of a kind Maggie, your heart larger than life, your generosity and compassion endless, you are truly one of a kind mom. Now reunited with Hans, the love of your life, you now get to live this new life with him again.
I will miss you dearly, but will always love you. I will never forget you Maggie. Bon Voyage!
John & Gordon and family, my sincere condolences, fill your heart with the many wonderful memories of Maggie, it will ease up your sorrow.
Still can't believe your gone aunt Margaret, I'll miss our wee chats we had about my Dad, and the times we spent driving to Calendar & Oban listening to Elton John on the way, having fish and chips by the sea and not forgetting our visits to West Kilbride to visit your Mum Mary ( My Gran) resting place. You never said goodbye aunt Margaret it was always see you soon and Mountains of Love .
Dearest Maggie was and still is a and forever will be
a bright, generous, loving, laughing and glorious light of humor, deeply caring for her friends and family. Over the years we ve stayed in touch through fb messenger. Everyday she sent a happy "Good morning "Snoopy dog embracing a bright day, or a happy Friday, flowers..and of course some bawdy Scottish moments..sayings..jokes..Always lifting my spirits. I will miss these morning greetings. (I haven't deleted any of them ). As I write this and think of her , I can feel her bright ,laughing, dear Scottish Soul , feasting on Haggis, doing endless tours to the Isle of Skye listening to the bagpipes and causing the wind to blow up a kilt or two. Of course she'll be flying around some Swiss and Canadian mountains ,laughing ,grinning ,dancing with Hans and sending her great heart full of love to us all. A loving angel to watch over all who knew and loved her. Much love Maggie..
So many wonderful memories of Maggie from my CMH days. Laughter, kindness and a few good shenanigans. Gatherings at her new home on Wolf were always filled with love and smiles. Those encounters on walks with Paisley were big hugs and great stories.
Sending my deepest condolences to John and Gordon.

When I emigrated to Banff in 1970 I met Maggie at the Timberline, it was the start of a friendship that expanded 54 years and what a 54 years it was. Hans and Maggie’s house was a welcomed home away from home, saved me from many homesick nights. Although I could go on for hours talking about my friendship with Maggie we did share a special trip to China and Tibet. When we arrived in Lhasa for our 5 day trip we both experienced tears of joy, me for finally realizing my dream since childhood to visit the Dalai Lama’s Potola Palace and for Maggie visiting his summer home. On that trip we both lost weight as our food choices were limited, Maggie rose to the occasion and was my food guinea pig, eventually one night we shared 2 bottles of cheap wine and snicker bars. That trip of all my trips is forever etched in my mind along with my love and friendship for Maggie. She will be missed.
