Obituary of Robert Alan Jaynes

December 26, 1941 – October 19, 2024

Jaynes, Robert (Bob) Alan passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the age of 82 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Suzanne, on October 3, 2012, and his son, Christoper, on September 29, 2022.

Bob was born and raised in Toronto, ON, where he graduated from West Hill High School in Highland Creek. He began his career working at the local IGA, took an opportunity and worked for three years in Freeport, Bahamas, as a Grocery Store Manager.

Bob relocated to Calgary, AB, in the year 1979, enjoying many years in the grocery business in management before taking a position with Canadian Tire in and around 1995 until he retired. Bob loved his job and took pride in his work.

He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #285.

Bob loved living in the West; he loved playing baseball in the seniors league, travelling around Canada and the USA for championships with his numerous ball friends, travelling in the Caribbean and to the Southern states, and finally spending the last few years in Arizona for the winter months, travelling home in the summer to the Muskoka’s in Ontario to spend time with his family.

Bob will be sadly missed by his brother Barry and sister Janet, along with both his loving family and extended family.

The family would like to thank the Foothills Staff of the ICU for their care of Bob throughout his stay and for the support provided to the family.
