Sadie Bernice Lenz of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the age of 90 years.

Bernice was born in Olds, AB, on June 30, 1934. She was predeceased by her husband, James Ernest “Jim” Lenz.

An exceptional teacher, Bernice taught for 34 years at numerous schools in Calgary. She retired from Western Canada High School and kept in touch with a number of her students.

Bernice had an inquisitive and curious mind and enjoyed exploring and learning new things. She was always ready and willing to share her knowledge and experience.

Her biggest passion was for her horses, riding, and all things equine. She continued to ride her horse up until earlier this year.

Sharp-minded and tremendously independent, Bernice made her own decisions, persevered, and was determined to live life on her own terms. She will be fondly remembered for her enthusiasm, energy, generosity, and kindness.

Bernice was much loved and will be missed by her family, relatives, and many friends. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Bernice’s family here.

At Bernice's request, no funeral or memorial service will take place.
