Obituary of Ellen Fulford

Ellen, aged 96 years, lived a long and full life. Ellen was born and grew up in London, England. At the end of WWII, she began her career as a legal secretary in London.

In 1949, Ellen married Ken, and they added two daughters to the family. Ellen and Ken took a giant leap and moved the family across the Atlantic to Calgary in 1963. Ellen’s greatest love was looking after her family, but she also held various part-time and full-time secretarial positions. Once settled in Calgary, Ellen and Ken added a son to complete the family.

With the family grown and launched, Ellen and Ken enjoyed retirement, travelling, and spending time at the cabin at Columbia Lake, BC. Ellen moved to The Manor Village at Signature Park with Ken where they were comfortably looked after for eleven years. More recently, Ellen, needing more care, was moved to Staywell Manor.

Ellen is survived by her daughters, Sally (Ron) and Julia, and her son Andrew (Bonnie). Ellen has nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth and son-in-law Colin.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
