Dorothy Agnes Bishop of Calgary, AB, born March 7, 1928, lived a full and joyful 96 years, passing away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Ernie, her son Rick, her brother Walt and sister-in-law Wilma; and her brother-in-law Ken and his wife Maxine. Dorothy’s memory and legacy live on through her son Glen and his wife Sue, as well as her three beloved grandchildren, Brittany and her husband Travis, Alex, and Victoria; as well as Sue’s family, who will miss her greatly.
Dorothy had a love for Scottish country dancing. She generously gave her time by volunteering to read with school children and shared a special weekly tradition of picking her grandchildren up for lunch every Wednesday. An avid traveller, Dorothy especially cherished trips to England to visit family, as well as cruises and sunny stays in Hawaii. After losing Ernie, Dorothy found enduring friendship and support among her friends at Sierra’s West, who remained close to her heart.
