Obituary of Stephen Joseph Mullen

July 7, 1949 – Windsor, Ontario

October 27, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Stephen ‘Steve’ Mullen, beloved husband of Anne Pointen-Mullen, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the age of 75.

 

He volunteered his time and talents to various events, including the Shaw Charity Classic Golf Tournaments, Alpine Ski - World Cup, the Paralympics, the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

 

Steve had a successful career at Telus from 1975 to 2005, including working with AGT, Stentor, BC Tel, and Bell. In his free time, he enjoyed skiing, golfing, working on electronics, and attending auctions.

 

One of Steve's greatest achievements was his contribution to timing accuracy for winter ski races. He created a wiring system that is still used today, allowing for precise timing of athletes from start to finish.

 

Steve will be remembered for his passion for winter sports, his leadership skills, and his dedication to his family, friends, and community.

 

He leaves behind his beloved wife Anne, their son Leonard, daughter Sara, and granddaughter Tatiana Bouchard. Steve is also survived by his brothers, John (Barb), Dan (Sandra), and Warren (Colette); and his sister, Barbara (Mike) Jones, along with several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Magdalene (nee Fox) Mullen.
