Obituary of Josephine Ann Jackson

July 4, 1945 – Fir Mountain, Saskatchewan

October 26, 2024 – Cochrane, Alberta

Josephine Jackson, beloved wife of 61 years, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Foothills Medical Centre at the age of 79 years surrounded by her loving family (beloved husband, children, and grandchildren).

She was born on July 4th, 1945, in Fir Mountain, SK.

In 1963 Joey married Joe Jackson in Calgary where they resided on the Gracelynn dairy farm. In 1967 they moved to Stavely, AB, where they had four children and farmed for five years. They then made their way to Calgary, AB in 1972 where they lived for 50 years. Joey dedicated 39 years of her career to Safeway, where her kindness and work ethic made a lasting impact on colleagues and customers alike.

She was a devoted mother to her four children: Lisa (Jeff), Michael (Trish), Karla (Pat), and Tara (Rob). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Nikole, Melissa, Jessica, Robyn, Carter, and Jamiee, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Haleigh, Brooklyn, and Payton, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Joey had a passion for baking red velvet cakes, pies, and butter tarts. She will be remembered for her amazing potato salad that will continue to be passed on for generations. Her kitchen was a gathering place for family and friends, filled with love and laughter.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her nurturing spirit, and her unwavering love for her family and Rio. Joey leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Joey was predeceased by her parents and her eight siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Cochrane, AB.
