Obituary of Deanna Gail Betty Bach
October 20, 1944 – Admiral, Saskatchewan
October 22, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Deanna Gail Betty Bach (nee Stewart) passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in Calgary, AB, at the age of 80 years.
Deanna was born in Admiral, SK, on October 20, 1944. She spent most of her early years in Regina, SK.
While working in Kitimat, BC, she met her future husband Douglas Arnold Bach. She returned to Regina, SK, and married Douglas on November 30, 1963.
They lived for several years in Regina, SK, relocating to Saskatoon, SK, due to Douglas’s promotion to the new Army & Navy store in Saskatoon.
During those years, Deanna was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She was occasionally employed outside the home during their time in Saskatoon. In later years, they relocated to Calgary where they retired.
Deanna and Douglas had two children, son Darcy and daughter Dana. Sadly, she became estranged from her daughter and was predeceased by her son in 2020. Both these tragic events weighed heavily upon Deanna causing her trauma throughout her life.
Deanna enjoyed gardening, homemaking and “DIY” projects. She was an avid collector of all items, particularly glassware and fine china. Her passion continued to the end, she would frequently visit all second-hand and thrift stores, always purchasing something despite claiming to be downsizing.
Her kind nature, care, and generosity touched everyone she met during her 80 years.
She is survived by her husband Douglas and daughter Dana, three granddaughters, sister-in-law Gail, and numerous cousins.
She will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
