Dixie Jeffery (nee Middleton), beloved wife of Douglas “Skip” Jeffery, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the age of 85 years.

Dixie was a quiet person and a sincere friend to those she treasured. In her early days, she sewed and knitted for her family, but as time went on, she taught herself to quilt which became her passion. She volunteered for Cystic Fibrosis Canada and helped others in her quiet way.

Dixie’s life was focused on family. Her parents, Jack and Helen Middleton, fulfilled a dream by building a cabin in Harvie Heights, AB, which family and friends have continued to enjoy for over sixty years. Dixie is survived by her dearly devoted husband Douglas (Skip), who stayed by her side for the years of struggle with dementia; as well as her four children, John (Elaine), Sandra (Wally), Deanne (Campbell), and Tammy (Neil); and seven grandchildren, Angela (Shannon), Tracy (Tyler), Chantal, Jeffery, David (Faith), Janine, and Danielle (Jennnifer); and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Donna, as well as numerous other relatives. Dixie was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Helen, parents-in-law, Rose and Doug, brother-in-law Walter, and best friend Edleen.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Jeffery’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
