Obituary of Dennis John Litchfield

October 31, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

 

Dennis Litchfield, beloved husband of Mary Litchfield (nee Atkinson), passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born on Wednesday, December 6, 1939, in Kingston, ON, and moved to Calgary, AB, when he was five.

 

Dennis worked hard throughout his life and enjoyed hobbies such as hunting, fishing, and traveling whenever he could. One of his most memorable moments was his trip to Mexico to attend his granddaughter's wedding. He was also passionate about photography and captured many beautiful moments throughout his life.

 

Dennis will always be remembered for his peculiar sense of humour, his quirky grin whenever he thought he had a clever joke, and the way he could captivate those around him with stories from his past.

 

Dennis will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary. He was also a devoted father to his son, Michael, and daughter, Susanne. He was a proud grandfather to Lynn White, Christina Bettinazzi, Deanna and Ashley Dirks; and a loving great-grandfather to Danika Bettinazzi. He is also survived by his brother, Peter.

 

Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Dennis Sr. and Nancy. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his kind heart and his love for family.

 

The family would like to thank everyone who has offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. They will be holding a private gathering to honour him.
