Obituary of Wayne Beschell

Wayne Beschell passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary at the age of 81 years, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Edmonton, AB, on April 24, 1943.
Wayne graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Pharmacy in 1965. That same year, he married Joanne Rose in Edmonton. A year later, the couple moved to Calgary, where Wayne began his career at Kensington Drugs. Over the years, Wayne worked as the pharmacy manager at Calgary Co-op, overseeing seven Co-op pharmacy locations and helping open several new stores as the company expanded.
He was a devoted family man, and his family was always his top priority. He was a passionate golfer, skier, and camper. He was known to his friends and family for his dry sense of humour and always being willing to help. Wayne was also an active member at Hawkwood Baptist Church, where he contributed to the building of the new church.
Wayne is survived by his wife JoAnne Beschell, three children, Tracey, Todd (Julie), and Heather (Jeff); seven grandchildren, Ashley, Jackson, Samantha, Jaden, Thomas, Danica, and Victoria; his brother Darryl (Natalia), and his beloved black lab Rio.
