Obituary of Mary Lillian Finch

Mary was born in Bassano, AB, on August 13, 1931.
Mary graduated from the Holy Cross Hospital with a degree in Nursing. She practised in Ft. Macleod, AB, for the first part of her career.
Mary married Peter Finch, and they started a family in 1958. She took a break from her career to raise her three sons. Throughout her married life she lived in several communities within Calgary and made lifelong friends wherever they settled.
Mary was a member of the Willow Park Golf & Country Club where she was extremely active. In the off-season, she was a strong Bridge player with several groups.
Mary achieved many milestones in her life, including learning to drive at a later age and completing a nursing refresher course at 50. She had a passion for painting and took classes to explore different styles.
Mary and Peter wintered in Phoenix for 15 years. They took several other vacations including bus trips and cruises with friends to enjoy golfing, sightseeing, and gambling.
Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Eleanore Finch; grandson Adam (Shelsey), and great-granddaughters, Charli, Georgia, and Molly; granddaughter Kelly (Mike), and great-granddaughters, Mila and Jovi; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Heather Finch; and grandson Cooper.
Mary is also survived by her brother Leroy Long and sister Arlene Link (Ron), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Peter and son Paul.
A Gathering will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, Hospitality Centre, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
