Obituary of Donald Glendon McRae

Donald McRae, beloved husband of Audrey I. McRae (nee Pocock) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 96 years.
Don was born in Calgary on May 30, 1928. He was a lifelong Calgarian.
After high school, he served five years with the Royal Canadian Navy. After the Navy, Don joined the Federal Civil Service, where he spent his entire career. Don married Audrey Pocock in 1958. They spent 41 happy years together until her passing on April 3, 1999. Don was an avid skier and golfer and was a member of the Water Valley Golf Club for many years.
Don is lovingly remembered by his son Bruce (Deirdre), granddaughter Heather of Calgary, AB, and his brother Doug of Port Moody, BC.
He was predeceased by his wife Audrey, his parents, Ken and Annie McRae, his sister Betty Ferguson, and his brother Jimmie.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway ((Calgary Crematorium, 3219- 4th Street N.W. Calgary, AB within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Calgary Crematorium Columbarium. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the funeral home.
