Obituary of Helen Williams

April 2, 1930 – McCord, Saskatchewan

November 15, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Helen Mae Williams (nee Hiltz), beloved wife of the late Ross Robie Williams Jr., passed away on Friday, November 15th, 2024 at the age of 94 years.

Born in McCord, SK, and raised at Meadow Lake, SK, she spent most of her life in Calgary, AB. Helen worked in the oil industry in Calgary and later at Mount Royal University. She was also an active member of the Calgary Curling Club.

Helen had a passion for curling and was a devoted fan of the Calgary Flames. She also enjoyed raising racehorses with Ross, and her most beloved horse was Misty Robin. In her spare time, she could often be found in her garden or watching and identifying birds.

One of Helen's most memorable vacations was a Branson, MO, bus tour with several of her sisters. She also travelled to many destinations around the world with her husband, Ross. They shared a love of travelling and created countless cherished memories together.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, Beachel and Avard Hiltz; in-laws, Ross Sr. and Emily Williams; her three brothers, Dean, Bruce, and Melvin; and two sisters, Doreen and Elva. She is survived by her brother Maurice, five sisters, Thelma, Iris, Lois, Frances, and Evelyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Christina Oh for fourteen years of friendship, fellowship, and excellent care.

Helen will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, dear Helen.
