Obituary of Jack Stuart Addison MacNeil
July 28, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
November 20, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Jack MacNeil, beloved son of Shawna LeBlanc and Addison MacNeil, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully with a smile in his mom and dad’s arms on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Jack was born in Calgary, AB, on July 28, 2024, at Rockyview General Hospital.
Jack loved to snuggle with his mom and dad and enjoyed listening to his grandmas (Anne and Fran), grandpa Stu, and uncle Richie tell him stories. Jack especially loved hearing his big brother James’ voice. Jack was already a fan of Tolkien, as well as the Seahawks just like his dad. He was joining his mom as she learned more about her Indigenous heritage through teachings she read to him.
He will be most remembered for his impressive strength, beautiful head of hair, and big, cheeky smile. Jack had the most heartwarming giggle and beautiful bright eyes, that made everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him instantly fall in love. He was so snuggly that he adopted the name “Little Squish”.
Jack is survived by his parents, Shawna Lynn LeBlanc and Addison John Arthur MacNeil; big brother James, grandparents, Anne MacNeil, Frances LeBlanc, and Stuart LeBlanc; his uncle Richard, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A private family service will be held.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donate a toy to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Jack’s honour.
Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Jack’s family here.
In living memory of Jack MacNeil, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, Ab t2x 3j3, Telephone: 403-256-9575.
