Obituary of Daniel Leonard Wall
November 10, 1947 – Peterborough, Ontario
November 30, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
The Wall family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of their husband, father, grandfather, brother to Greg (Peterborough), uncle, cousin, and friend, Daniel Leonard Wall. On Saturday, November 30, 2024, surrounded by his family’s love, Dan started his eternal rest.
Dan began life in Peterborough, Ontario, moving to Winnipeg to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Manitoba, and later his accounting designation. Dan worked at Revenue Canada in Winnipeg and Calgary before retiring.
Surviving him is his wife Gloria Wall (nee Keddy), daughter Elizabeth, son Bryden, and grandchild Val, all of Calgary. He was predeceased by his father Len, mother Eleanor, sister Heather, brother Gary, sister-in-law Sherry, uncles, aunts, and his grandparents.
Dan met his wife Gloria 53 years ago and was an anchor throughout their family’s life. He took special interest in his children and grandchild, always being there for them. Dan loved watching hockey, especially the Calgary Hitmen with Val, reading Clive Cussler books and the Bible, and walking his poodle pal Mozart. He had an incredible varied collection of music albums, which he played daily. He would stop and talk to anyone, and those who knew him would attest to his gentle, loving, giving personality—a true gentleman. His memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in those whose lives he has touched.
We would like to thank Calgary EMS, as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff at Rockyview and Foothills Hospital for their assistance and compassion.
