It is with profound sadness that the Bowie family announces the loss of their beloved Father, Ken Bowie, who has joined all his loved ones in heaven on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

Ken Bowie was an amazing entrepreneur, a generous philanthropist and athlete extraordinaire who raised an entire family of world champions.

Ken Bowie was born on a modest farm in Vulcan, AB, on August 8, 1925. He was 99 years young, as everyone would attest. In his lifetime, Ken Bowie's light shone ever so brightly on anyone who was lucky enough to know him. He was literally the "Last Man Standing" from World War 2. After proudly serving his country, he was blessed with great success in oil which changed the trajectory of his life.

He went on to build homes with Keith Construction. He also spent many years teaching children to ski at Happy Valley. For the last 55 years, Ken was a proud part owner of Willow Park Golf and Country Club. He and his partners raised over twelve million dollars for charities throughout Calgary from the well-known Willow Park Charity Classic.

He is survived by his current long-time partner Sally Pettit, eldest son Darryl Bowie and wife Trudy, Melvin Bowie, Rick and Jane Bowie, Brenda Bowie, Lauralee Bowie and partner Kerry.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Brandon Bowie, Dawson Bowie and Tessa Bowie; and great grandchildren; Nakita Bowie, Ayvin Bowie and Everett Guignard.

Ken was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Joanne Bowie.
