Condolences
On behalf of all ranks of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Regimental Headquarters, please accept our condolences on the recent passing of Raffaele Corvino, a proud member of our Regiment. His name will be added to our Last Post so his Regiment and friends whom he served with will remember his spirit and history.
Regimental Major
Maj Steven S.A. Zivkow, CD
Regimental Warrant Officer
WO Gregory G. Davis, CD
When I got hired at Calgary Parking Authority (CPA), Larry was already working there. He was regimental 8805, I was 8898.
However, Larry was one of the uniformed officers and I worked in the office. This meant that it wasn’t until closer to the end of my 23 years at CPA that I had a chance to work more closely with Larry on a regular basis.
He was just about universally well liked in view of his sense of humour and mischievous nature, but he was also one of those quietly super competent and efficient and organized people that you really like to work with.
I can absolutely see why he was such a well liked and respected Warrant Officer with PPCLI.
Ciao Larry, you’ll be greatly missed.
I have worked with Larry since 1997. Larry will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. His confident charm and humour naturally commanded respect that he received from everyone around him. His passion for the military was just as strong as his love and passion for his wife and kids. He had a heart of gold even when he tried to make it sound like he didn’t even have one. He was hard core military but was also a true gentleman to the core. Heaven has a new Angel now…Larry I know you will be kicking some a** up there making sure their uniforms are in order. We will all miss you down here!

Larry embodied elegance and professionalism in every sense. His presence in any room commanded respect, not through authority, but through his kindness, warmth, and genuine care for those around him. It was an honour to work with him, and he will remain an inspiration to me. May he rest in peace!
Rest in peace my friend I knew Larry in the military and when we met anywhere he would tell people that I was his first section commander in A coy 1 PPCLI He was a good soldier proud to have know him and serve with him
Deepest condolences to all of Larry’s friends and family. Larry and I were friends for along time. I enjoyed the conversation and adventures over the years. He had a unique personality and was a talented natural soldier. As well as a great father to his family. He will be missed.
Working for Larry, I will always remember him for his innate leadership skills, particularly the way he could uplift a room of people with his witty humor. My sincere condolences to his family; he will be sorely missed.
Larry was perhaps one of the most unique combinations of personalities in one person that I have ever encountered. He could be strict but sarcastic, witty but satirical, firm but flexible, dry but straight forward, and a multitude of so many other facets all at the same time, making each and every conversation with him an absolute joy. Whether it was asking about my son, or reminding me of some stupid mistake I made, giving me advice on life or work, or making fun of people in a manner that even they laughed about, it was always time well spent whenever speaking with Larry. Very few people can command respect the way he could, and command it he did. I’m sorry for the loss not just for the family, but every one he impacted. It’s cliche, but I think Larry would approve when I say he truly was a classic all to himself. He will be missed.
Condolences to all of Larry’s family. He was a great man, and will be dearly missed.
deepest condolences to all family and friends.Mr.Larry was an amazing and a very helpful person.
may god bless his departed soul.
Corvino was an amazing man. He was the first person to make me feel welcome at my new job and always had my back when work became stressful. He taught me many things about life in general and the importance of respecting people, even when they are being rude to me. He has changed not only my life, but the city of Calgary for the better. When i shine my boots, I still see you in the reflection giving me a thumbs up. Rest in peace.
